Backstory: The Department of Labor exposed several Park Slope restaurants for underpaying their staffers (NY1 story here). After I posted the list of restaurants that were one of the owners of Bogota Bistro said that the DOL had an agenda (comment here). My response was to ask him if he would like to elaborate on what the DOL’s agenda could actually be.
This request was met with a deafening nothingness. Oh well.
Now, I have a comment from Dustin (Hi Dustin!):
Bogota Bistro: And what, exactly, is the DOL’s agenda? What agenda would cause that agency to single your restaurant and a few others out and “lie” about your underpaying employees? It’s remotely possible they lied–but it’s hardly likely. The most likely scenario is, simply, that you underpaid your employees.
So, again, what agenda would cause the DOL to lie about you? Care to explain?
